Bond Services

The State Treasurer serves on the Bond Commission and performs various functions regarding bonds issued by the state, or the various state agencies having authority to issue bonds. The specific duties of the Treasurer in a bond issue are determined by the provisions set out in the official statement of the bond issue. Designated duties may include registrar, transfer agent, paying agent, investment of proceeds, debt service payments, or any other assignment permitted by law and accepted by the Treasurer.

Records of all bonds, which are general obligations of the State of Alabama or guaranteed by a revenue source of the State of Alabama, are maintained in the Treasurer’s Office. The Treasurer maintains records of some of the agency bond issues that delegate duties to the Treasurer. Records of all other agency bond issues are maintained by the agency.

The Bond Indebtedness Report provides details on bond issues maintained by the State Treasurer.
